Yesterday saw a change in plans made to spend the day photographing wildlife locally. Unusually the news and weather for the most part had not reported the incoming storm about to hit the UK. So it was a bit of a surprise on waking to find Storm Doris in full flow. After exchanging a few text messages with Sean who I was meeting. The day was rescheduled and we were on our way to Newhaven, East Sussex.
The journey down had a degree of uncertainty about it. High tide was several hours earlier at 08:45 so we was unsure if this would effect the waves breaching the harbour arm and lighthouse. We also was unsure if the storm would have passed through by the time we arrived. Much to our relief we found the storm was still hitting hard and provided us with some amazing opportunities for photographing storm Doris.
